Selkirk College appreciates the dedication and hard work of all employees as we continue to provide educational outcomes and services to students.
During this challenging time, we have equipped employees at all our sites to work remotely with a view of maintaining basic business continuity and asset protection.
Employees working in areas not described below, not assigned alternative duties by their supervisor, not able to work remotely through technology should remain home and observe physical distance protocols. In all cases, close contact with your supervisor through email or phone for further information is imperative. The general email address HR@selkirk.ca is also an important communication line to please use.
Selkirk College Remains in Operation Under Adapted Practices
There is currently restricted access for minimal staffing in Finance, Human Resources, Maintenance for essential items, Custodial, specific IT functions, and specific administrative functions at the Castlegar Campus.
Services such as Cafeterias, Computer Labs and Libraries are closed to students and the public.
Castlegar Campus Bookstore: While the physical store is not open for browsing, staff are on hand daily to take your phone & email orders and to schedule prearranged, out-of-store pickups and shipping. Accomodations will be made to help students get books for fall 2020 including e-readers and a system for pre-order/pre-pay. Stay tuned.
Alternative delivery for courses and programs is underway. School chairs, faculty and instructors have been provided with additional guidance and educational principles, along with considerations for alternatives for student assessment and final examinations.
The Mail Room and Duplicating Services at the Castlegar Campus will continue to operate with modifications that are due to a change in deliveries and volume. Please allow 48 hours minimum for printing.
Shipping and Receiving continues at the main campus five-days-a-week from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Inter-company mail is temporarily suspended. Please send inter-company mail electronically, wherever possible. This includes time sheets, purchase requisitions, revenue reports, cheque requisitions, invoice payments, etc.
A final reminder to please continue to practice physical distancing and use hand sanitizing or washing stations. All of us must continue to increase our efforts to help mitigate the spread of this virus.
